Agility Introduces the First RFID-Enabled Mobile Asset Management Program Designed to Reduce Total Cost of Ownership for Healthcare Providers
RICHMOND, Va. – April 19, 2004 – Agility Healthcare Solutions has introduced AgileTrac, the first Radio Frequency Identification-enabled (RFID-enabled) mobile asset management program designed to reduce the total cost of ownership for healthcare providers.
'AgileTrac increases asset utilization, drives operational efficiencies, reduces equipment maintenance costs, improves facility productivity and enhances the clinical experience,' said Fran Dirksmeier, Agility chief executive officer. ' AgileTrac is the only solution that enables control of the entire equipment management process. '
Agility offers solutions for resource management, including medical equipment, transport equipment and surgical instrument tracking, and workflow management, including patient flow, staff workflow, and bed and room tracking.
AgileTrac is a Web-based technology infrastructure that includes hardware, data collection and systems integration middleware, and application software and user interfaces. Hardware offered by Agility includes universal active RFID and wireless (Wi-Fi) networks for facility-wide equipment management.
'We take a unique service model approach to technology implementation and ongoing client support,' said Dirksmeier. 'Agility is the only company in the healthcare industry offering a simple service fee model for resource and workflow management solutions, RFID and wireless technology, business process improvement and ongoing operational support. Healthcare providers pay a monthly fee for a comprehensive, turnkey service offering that requires minimal capital investment.'
'AgileTrac is designed to meet the equipment challenges universally shared by the healthcare industry,' Dirksmeier said, 'including equipment shortages, unproductive use of clinical and support staff time, rental costs and shrinkage. Agility positions equipment at the right place at the right time which ensures that it's utilized most effectively, it's rented only when absolutely necessary and is returned expeditiously when no longer needed, and that clinicians have the equipment they need, when they need it, to provide superior patient care.'
