Agility Unveils Inventory Management To Go
ANAHEIM, Calif. – AHRMM's Annual Conference & Exhibition — July 25, 2005 — Agility Healthcare Solutions, known for delivering the largest mobile asset management programs enabled by radio frequency identification in the U.S. healthcare industry, unveiled the latest product in its AgileTrac resource and workflow management suite.
AgileTrac Mobile, Agility's newest RFID-enabled solution for tracking and managing inventory, requires no installation or infrastructure and so can offer immediate benefits. Agility said the product is ideal for use by materials managers and suppliers to track equipment, surgical instruments and expensive consumable items, including surgical implants.
Agility chief executive officer Fran Dirksmeier said AgileTrac Mobile offers healthcare providers a great opportunity to use RFID to solve critical issues without any infrastructure investment or legacy system integration.
Handheld PDAs in the system automatically capture inventory data from all tagged items within a 30-foot radius. Features of AgileTrac Mobile include integrated RFID readers, unique inventory management software, wireless fidelity capability, a full suite of Microsoft mobile technologies, and battery-powered, reusable RFID tags.
'Not only can AgileTrac Mobile capture information on all tagged items within a user-defined area, the product can identify how close the user is to a tagged item and whether the user is moving closer or farther away from it,' said Dirksmeier. 'Our product is definitely the first of its kind in the healthcare industry.'
AgileTrac Mobile was developed to allow a user to pick up the device and begin tracking and managing inventory more efficiently and more accurately than a solution requiring manual scanning or a built-in technology infrastructure. Inventory data is captured in a flexible format that can be exported easily to other systems and applications.
While designed as a standalone product, AgileTrac Mobile is a complementary component within AgileTrac, Agility's suite of turnkey, outcomes-based resource and workflow management solutions.
